After Alex
Alexandra Kurland died in July this year. Many of us learned from her for decades, and since then people have been writing to me asking where to go with their questions now.
Two things came out of that.
I’ve opened a space for people who worked with Alex’s material and want to keep working on it together. It’s a place to bring what you’re doing with your horse, get another pair of eyes on it, and give the same in return. If that’s you, this is the form to join.

And I’ve reopened the video coaching, which I had paused. One video, one question, one conversation about it. Here’s how it works.
Building the structure for a shared world
I’m stepping away from one-to-one coaching to build I am building something I’ve wanted to exist for years: a digital world where people who care about The Integration can actually develop together.
What that means practically:
I’m creating the structure that will hold this community.
- The Integration Letters, where I share what I’m discovering in the barn, riding and on the ground, with Blondie, Asfaloth, Graya and Malou.
- A Community where members can work through their own questions and observations together.
The technical infrastructure is ready. Now I’m writing the content and developing how The Integration Letters works.
I’m aiming to open the Membership for a small cohort in 2026. Initially only in English.
Cribbing Project
One manuscript is finalised and being submitted to journals, and a second is nearly finished. These papers matter because they bring behaviour analytic approaches into veterinary science and introduce a novel approach to stereotyped behaviour.
Scientific work
My day job right now is focused on horse and donkey welfare and developing methodologies to assess positive welfare instead of just measuring absence of suffering. It turns out the questions I’m asking in the barn and the questions I’m asking at work aren’t as separate as they might seem.
Lifetime learning
I continue learning from my horses, of course, and from my Feldenkrais instructor Nathalie. There is still A LOT (!) of improvement necessary (as I realised after receiving Anja’s feedback on my riding videos).
